Possesses a Doctor of Science, two Masters of Science degrees all in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. Dr Amana was a Lecturer/Research Associate for three years in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT

He holds  a Masters in Business Administration from the North Eastern University, Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr Amana is a Fellow  of the Royal Society of Arts, Science and Commerce England; Member, New York Academy of Sciences, American Society of Mechanical Engineers as well as the American Management Association.

Dr Amana graduated with a  First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering from the Imperial College, University of London emerging  the  Best Graduating Student in the School of Engineering.
